Redwood Digital Walls is the specialist studio within the Redwood Tech Group for architectural digital displays and statement visual installations. Planning a Wall
How we approach pitch, power, programme, and looking after the wall. The right specification still depends on the room.
How should pixel pitch relate to viewing distance?
Closer viewers — a residence, a board table — usually need a finer pitch. A venue or façade, seen from further away, can use a coarser pitch and still look sharp. We size the pitch to the nearest comfortable viewing distance, the content, and the budget, rather than a default module.
What power and heat should we plan for?
An LED wall is an electrical load and a heat source. We work out the supply, the heat rejected into the room or the void behind the wall, and the ventilation or access MEP needs to allow. That is settled in design, not on the last day of installation.
What lead times are realistic in the UAE?
Lead time follows the wall: how settled the design is, how much of it is built into joinery or structure, and how the panels are supplied. We agree a programme against your dates once those are known. We do not publish one lead time for every project.
What changes between an indoor and an outdoor wall?
Outdoor walls, and walls on a bright window line, need higher brightness, weather or UV protection, and a service method that works in that exposure. Indoor walls can be a finer pitch, quieter, and tuned for colour in controlled light. The same product is rarely right for both.
How is the wall maintained after handover?
Front service or rear service is chosen with the architecture, because it sets the recess, the trim, and how a module is reached later. Commissioning includes handover documentation, and support continues after the wall is in use.
